The project is essentially a series of cross community and cross border facilitated workshops and activities with a Maritime Heritage & Culture theme. 'The Waves of Change' aims to provide opportunities for dialogue, contact and positive relationship building and partnership working on joint projects which will promote reconciliation and celebrate cultural diversity. The five schools involved around Dunfanaghy are Ballymore N.S., Faugher N.S., Holy Cross N.S., Holy Trinity N.S. and Murroe N.S.. During the project all schools have carried out a wide range of activities including art, drama, music and projects exploring the heritage of the local area. There have been a series of joint projects and activities which have provided, and continue to provide, an opportunity for the pupils and teachers to get to know each other and develop strong links. By undertaking joint work beyond their immediate catchment areas the project hopes to establish a sense of community between the schools that will last beyond the lifetime of the project. The official premiere showing of the film took place on Thursday 28th April 2011 at Farset International in Belfast and was very well received. Waves of Change Film Night at Dunfanaghy.

The Waves of Change film was first screened in Dunfanaghy on Friday 10th June at a film night at Holy Trinity Church Hall. A second film was also screened on the night of particular local interest. This film showed footage taken from Kilmacrennan, Creeslough, Dunfanaghy, Falcarragh and the surrounding areas and was filmed by the Metcalfe family during holidays in the area from 1935 to 1965. Both films were very well received and money raised on the night went support youth activities in the area.
