The Workhouse Exhibition

The exhibition explains the purpose of the Workhouse, who lived here, the rules and regulations, and how hard it was to survive in rural Ireland during the Famine.

The Wee Hannah Exhibition

Tells the true life story of Hannah Herrity or Wee Hannah and her struggle to survive the famine and life in the Workhouse.  

The Sheephaven History Exhibition

This exhibition is a number of story boards covering a wide range of topics of interest form the local area.

Other

The Workhouse is very happy to organise group tours when additional activities can be offered such as the Metcalfe film showing old film footage of the Dunfanaghy area from 1935-1965.  A tasting session of porridge and buttermilk and discussion around the types of food we eat today.  The tour can be tailored for the groups needs and interests and we can offer special rates for lunch or home made scones with cream and home made jam.
